Milestone - the end is in sight!!

This weekend we achieved a milestone in the project and that was the completion of the painting throughout the house. At the moment, the only room untouched is what was our old bedroom. It's not a massive job though, so we or may not may get round to that before baby is born.

Jane and Ed were with us again for the whole weekend, which has been a massive help. Of course Anne was also around and still on her hands and knees glossing, priming, undercoating (not in that order) at 32 weeks pregnant. She likes to have a mention in my blog, so there you go lass!

Today, Gary is fitting the carpets throughout the house, with the exception of the lounge, the floor of which we're waiting to be fully dry before doing anything. A dehumidifier has been working day and night for the last few days.

We're now starting to reminisce about the dark days of the project, which is surely a sign that we're feeling much more optimistic. We're on the final straight. Next weekend is cleaning and unpacking, at which point we should be turning the house back into our home. Can't wait!

Jobs still to do:
Carpets and Lino
Bath plumbed in upstairs
Wall lights fitted in lounge, dining room, landing
Clean everywhere
Garage unpacked and things back in place
Garage tidied
Things taken to the tip
Kitchen flooring and lounge flooring
Have a baby
